eroq for Photoshop — generate as a layer, edit the canvas with a sentence
A guide to the eroq Photoshop plugin. Install the .ccx, connect with a code, generate pictures as new layers in five formats, and edit the open document from a plain-language instruction.
The Photoshop plugin does two things, and both end as a layer: Generate renders a picture from a prompt into the open document, and Edit sends the document to eroq with a sentence and brings the changed version back, aligned over your work. Everything else — masks, blend modes, the rest of your file — stays Photoshop's. This guide is the install, then each button, then the habits that make edits land.
Install and connect
- Download the
.ccxfrom the Photoshop page and double-click it. Creative Cloud installs the plugin. - In Photoshop, open Plugins → eroq and click Connect eroq. eroq.ai opens in the browser: sign in, click Allow, and the page shows a code with a Copy button.
- Paste the code into the plugin. Connected.
Photoshop plugins run in a sandbox that cannot listen for a browser redirect, which is why the sign-in ends with a code instead of a closed tab. The plugin's key is « Photoshop (connected) » under Developers → API keys on eroq; revoke it there to disconnect. A pasted key works as a fallback. Photoshop 2023 (v24) or later, macOS or Windows.
The panel shows your credit balance at the top, from /v1/account, and the engine's price next to the model picker.
Generate
Write a prompt, pick a model and a frame format, click Generate.
- Formats:
1:1,3:4,4:3,9:16,16:9— same price for every ratio, each at its native resolution. - Models: from the image roster, the default Krea 2 at 10 credits a picture.
- Result: a new layer, named after your prompt, placed above the current one. The document's size does not change; the render is placed at its own size, so a 9:16 render in a 16:9 document lands as a tall layer you can scale.
Images are asynchronous on the API; the panel polls and adds the layer when the render lands, usually in seconds. A failed render refunds itself and the panel says why.
The layer is ordinary: mask it, blend it, transform it. Generate three variants and stack them; toggle to compare.
Edit
Open an image — or a document with the layers you want changed visible — write what should change, click Edit.
- The visible canvas is exported and sent to eroq's instruction editor with your sentence.
- The edited picture comes back as a new layer aligned over the canvas, same size, above your work. Your original is untouched underneath.
- Mask the new layer to keep the change only where you want it.
An edit costs the same as a render of the chosen model. It is the same instruction-based editing the studio offers, so the image-to-image guide applies: one change per sentence, name what stays.
Sentences that land
Edits are instructions, not descriptions. The engine reads the picture and your sentence; it does not need the picture described back to it.
- One change. « Make it golden hour. » Then, separately, « swap the jacket for red leather. » Two changes in one sentence is a coin flip on which lands.
- Name what stays. « Change the sky to dusk, keep the building and the people as they are. »
- Be concrete. « Add rain » is a mood; « add light rain, wet reflections on the street » is an edit.
- Iterate on layers. Each edit is a layer over the previous state. Hide one, edit again from the layer below, compare.
- Mask, don't re-edit. If an edit changed a face you wanted kept, mask the new layer around the face instead of asking for a third render.
Two workflows
Comp from nothing. Generate a 16:9 background at Krea 2's price; generate a 3:4 subject on its own layer; mask the subject; Edit the whole with « match the lighting of the subject to the background, warm from the left ». Three renders, 30 credits, one composite.
Variations for a client. Open the approved image; Edit with « make the dress emerald green »; Edit again from the original with « make the dress navy »; Edit with « change the background to a studio grey ». Three layers, three options, the original untouched. 30 credits.
What it does not do
Inpainting with a brush (mask the returned layer instead), upscaling, and video. For clips, the Premiere Pro panel and the Cinema workspace are the tools. For batches, the CLI.
FAQ
Is the plugin on the Adobe Marketplace?
Not yet — it ships as a direct .ccx download during the beta. Creative Cloud installs it on double-click; the Exchange listing follows Adobe's review.
What does an edit cost?
The same as a render of the chosen model — 10 credits on Krea 2. Failed renders refund themselves.
Does my document leave my machine?
For Edit, the visible canvas is sent to eroq to be edited, over HTTPS, and the result is saved to your library like any render. For Generate, only the prompt is sent.
Can I use a reference image when generating?
Not in the panel yet; Edit is the way to render from the document. The studio's image tool takes references directly.
Download it from the Photoshop page — the first layer is on the free credits.
Make this with the models behind the post — start with 50 free credits , or browse every engine and its price .
