Video to video

Bring a clip whose movement you like (a dance, a camera move, a product turning) and write the new scene. Ref-to-video sends it to the engine as a reference: the new clip copies its motion and camera, and your prompt decides who, where and in what light. It sits in Video › Edit, next to Extend and Upscale, on eroq Motion One, Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.0 Mini.

How it works

  • →1 · Open Video › Edit and pick Ref-to-video. Drop a clip, or pick a render from your Library.
  • →2 · Choose the length of the new clip. The reference is cut to that length in your browser, up to 30 seconds, because the engine bills every second it reads.
  • →3 · Describe the new scene, @mention a Character to cast them, pick the engine and the resolution, then press Make the clip.

What the reference does

The engine reads the reference for its motion and its camera: the timing of a gesture, a dolly or an orbit, the way a body turns. What is in the shot comes from your words and your cast. The reference needs 480p or more. Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.0 Mini turn down clips showing real-looking people; eroq Motion One, our own engine, takes any clip within the acceptable-use policy.

Engines and pricing

Five seconds with the reference cost 90 credits on Seedance 2.0 Mini, 150 on eroq Motion One, 230 on Seedance 2.0 Fast (Hobby), 395 on Seedance 2.0 (Creator) and 585 on Seedance 2.5 (Creator), at each engine's default resolution. The new clip is billed per second at the engine's video-input rate, which covers the reference, and a render that fails refunds itself.

Frequently asked questions

What is video to video AI?

A new clip made from an existing one: the reference video gives the motion and the camera, your prompt gives the scene. On eroq it is Ref-to-video, in Video › Edit.

Can I put my own character in the movement of another clip?

Yes: @mention a Character in the prompt and the engine casts them in the new clip, moving the way the reference moves. To swap the people of a clip while keeping every frame of it, use Replace instead.

Why was my reference clip refused?

Usually for one of two reasons: it is smaller than 480p, or it shows real-looking people on an engine that turns them down. Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.0 Mini turn down clips showing real-looking people; eroq Motion One, our own engine, takes any clip within the acceptable-use policy.

How much does it cost?

The new clip's seconds at the engine's video-input rate, from 90 credits for 5 seconds. The reference is never longer than the new clip, so no second is billed that you did not ask for.

Is there an API?

Yes: POST /v1/videos/generations with video_reference (an upload: or creation: id) and video_mode "reference", next to the usual prompt, model and seconds.
