How much does AI video cost — credit math for one finished minute
What AI video actually costs per clip and per finished minute, with three real budgets for a 60-second piece and every credit calculation shown.
Per-clip prices are easy to find and nearly useless, because nobody ships a single clip. What you want to know is what a finished minute costs, takes included, after the two that didn't work. This guide does that arithmetic in the open. Every number comes from the eroq roster on /models and the grid on /pricing, and every multiplication is shown so you can redo it with your own take count.
The unit — credits, and what one is worth
eroq bills credits. One credit is about a cent at the entry pack ($10 for 1,000), and gets cheaper as you buy larger. Two rules make budgeting honest: failed generations refund themselves automatically, so you only pay for renders that arrive, and credits never expire.
Here is what a credit actually costs, packs and plans side by side.
| Pack or plan | Price | Credits | Cost per credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter pack | $10 | 1,000 | $0.0100 |
| Builder pack | $50 | 5,500 | $0.0091 |
| Scale pack | $100 | 12,000 | $0.0083 |
| Hobby plan | $15 / mo | 1,800 | $0.0083 |
| Creator plan | $49 / mo | 6,000 | $0.0082 |
| Studio plan | $149 / mo | 20,000 | $0.0075 |
| Team plan | $249 / mo | 36,000 | $0.0069 |
| Agency plan | $499 / mo | 80,000 | $0.0062 |
Annual billing takes 20% off, so Creator paid yearly is $39.20 a month for the same 6,000 credits — about $0.0065 each. If you subscribe within three hours of signing up, the welcome offer takes 50% off the first month.
Per clip, by engine
At the 5-second anchor: Seedance 1.0 Lite 60 credits, Motion One 100, Hailuo 02 100, Kling 2.5 Turbo 120, Seedance 1.0 Pro 140, Seedance 2.5 180. Veo 3 Fast is 256 for its fixed 8 seconds. At 10 seconds: Lite 110, Motion One and Hailuo 180, Kling 220, Pro 260, Seedance 2.5 340.
In dollars at the Starter pack rate, that is $0.60 to $2.56 a clip. At the Creator rate, $0.49 to $2.09. Those two numbers bracket the whole market conversation, and neither is the number you should budget with.
Budget one — drafts on Seedance 1.0 Lite
Sixty seconds of 5-second shots is twelve clips. One take each, on Seedance 1.0 Lite at 60 credits:
12 × 60 = 720 credits. At the Hobby rate that is $6.00 for the minute.
Nobody keeps the first take. At two takes per shot it is 24 renders, 1,440 credits, $12.00. At three takes, 2,160 credits, $18.00. Using 10-second shots instead changes the shape but not much of the total: six clips at 110 credits is 660 for one take each, 1,320 for two.
This is the drafting budget. Lite shares the register of Pro at less than half the price, which is the whole reason to block out a sequence there first.
Budget two — keepers on Kling 2.5 Turbo
Same twelve shots, rendered on Kling 2.5 Turbo at 120 credits for 5 seconds, 1080p:
12 × 120 = 1,440 credits, one take each — $11.76 at the Creator rate. Two takes: 2,880 credits, $23.53.
The smarter version is the hybrid, and it is what most people converge on. Block out all twelve shots on Lite at two takes (1,440 credits), then re-render only the twelve keepers on Kling (1,440 credits):
1,440 + 1,440 = 2,880 credits, $23.53 — same total as brute-forcing Kling, except you spent the cheap half deciding and the expensive half executing. Every reference photo, camera move and seed carries over, because the library keeps the full recipe.
Budget three — Veo 3 Fast, with sound
Veo 3 Fast renders a soundtrack with the picture, and its clips are exactly 8 seconds. Sixty seconds needs eight of them (64 seconds, trimmed):
8 × 256 = 2,048 credits, one take each — $16.73 at the Creator rate. Two takes: 4,096 credits, $33.46.
That is the most expensive minute on the roster per render, and often the cheapest one overall, because the alternative is sourcing ambience, cutting effects and syncing them by hand. Price the edit, not just the render.
The parts nobody budgets for
They are small, and leaving them out is how estimates drift:
- Previz stills, 10 credits each on any of the three image models. Twelve framing tests is 120 credits — $1.20, and it saves far more than that in re-renders.
- Voice-over. Voice One is 3 credits per 100 characters. A 60-second read is roughly 900 characters, so 27 credits, about 22 cents. Voice Turbo does it for 18.
- Prompt enhancement is free. So is saving every render to your library, and publishing to the community.
- Hosting, if you serve the files from the eroq Store, is 2 credits per 10 MB.
A realistic all-in minute, hybrid workflow: 120 (stills) + 1,440 (Lite drafts, two takes) + 1,440 (Kling keepers) + 27 (voice) = 3,027 credits ≈ $24.72 on Creator. Call it $25 a finished minute, and you will rarely be wrong by much.
Packs or a plan
Packs are for irregular work — nothing recurring, no engine gates, top up when a job lands. Plans are for steady work, and they buy three things beyond the discount: the engine roster (Hobby unlocks Seedance 1.0 Lite and Hailuo 02, Creator unlocks all of them), longer clips (15 seconds on Hobby, 20 on Creator, 30 on Studio and up), and higher rate limits with a priority video queue from Creator.
Since credits roll over forever, the plan risk is timing, not waste. The break-even test is simple: if you render more than about one finished minute a month, the per-clip saving from unlocking Seedance 1.0 Lite pays for Hobby on its own.
Check your own math
Before you commit a budget, price one shot end to end. Render the same paragraph at 5 seconds on two engines and compare what you actually kept:
A courier weaves a bicycle between stopped cars on a wet avenue at dusk, headlights smearing across the frame as she stands on the pedals and pulls ahead of a bus. Tracking shot from the road, 35mm film, anamorphic lens, neon noir palette, contre-jour headlamps, dynamic tempo, rain on the lens.
Twelve of those, two takes each, is your minute. Multiply.
FAQ
How much does one AI video clip cost on eroq?
Between 60 and 256 credits depending on engine and length — roughly $0.49 to $2.56, cheaper per credit on larger packs and plans. Failed renders refund automatically, so you only pay for clips that arrive.
What does a finished minute of AI video cost?
Budget 700 to 4,100 credits depending on engine and take count — about $6 to $34. A realistic hybrid (cheap drafts, expensive keepers, stills and voice-over included) lands near 3,000 credits, roughly $25.
Do unused credits expire at the end of the month?
No. Credits never expire, and monthly plan credits roll over forever. That is what makes a plan safe to buy before you know your exact volume.
