How to use eroq in ChatGPT — images, video and voice from a chat

ChatGPT can call outside tools through apps, and eroq ships one: its MCP server. Add it once and ChatGPT can render pictures, start video clips and read voice lines on your eroq account, billed at the same credit prices as the studio. This guide walks through the setup — about two minutes — and what to expect once it is running.

What you need

• ChatGPT on the web with a plan that offers developer mode: Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu. On Business and Enterprise, a workspace admin may have to allow it first.
• An eroq account. Free to create, with 50 credits to start.

No API key. You will sign in to eroq instead.

Step 1 — turn on developer mode

Open ChatGPT's settings and switch on Developer mode. It unlocks custom apps built on MCP servers — the same technology eroq's Claude connector uses. If the switch is missing on a work account, that is the admin setting mentioned above.

Step 2 — create the eroq app

Create a new app (the + button where ChatGPT lists its apps) and fill in:

• Name: eroq
• MCP server URL: https://eroq.ai/mcp
• Authentication: OAuth

Save it. ChatGPT contacts eroq, discovers how to sign in, and sends you to eroq's consent page: sign in if needed, check that it names ChatGPT and your workspace, and click Allow. ChatGPT now holds its own key, visible in your eroq dashboard under Developers → API keys as ChatGPT (connected).

Step 3 — use it in a chat

In a new conversation, pick eroq from the developer-mode tools in the composer, then ask for what you want:

ChatGPT calls generate_image, which waits for the render and returns the picture with a link to the file (signed, valid 30 minutes — the render also stays in your eroq library).

Clips are asynchronous. Ask for "a 5-second vertical clip of the keeper climbing the stairs, slow tracking shot" and ChatGPT starts the render, then checks it with get_video_status until the link is ready — usually one to five minutes. Voice lines come from generate_speech, with the roster voices or your own clones.

Two free tools are worth knowing: enhance_prompt turns a rough idea into an engine-grade prompt before you spend anything, and list_models returns every model with its price and whether your plan unlocks it.

What it costs

The studio's prices, nothing added:

• 10 credits for an image on Krea 2.
• 45 credits for a five-second Seedance 2.0 Mini clip, 60 for a Motion One clip.
• 3 credits per 100 characters of speech on Voice One.

Failed renders refund themselves, and an empty wallet produces a clear message rather than a silent failure.

Why there is no one-click install (yet)

The apps you can install with a single click from inside ChatGPT are the ones listed in its directory after OpenAI's review. Until eroq is listed there, developer mode is the way in. The difference is only the setup — the tools, the sign-in and the prices are the same.

Troubleshooting

• "Authentication failed" when saving the app. Check the URL is exactly https://eroq.ai/mcp and that Authentication is set to OAuth, not "No authentication".
• eroq stops answering after a while. Its key was revoked — in the dashboard, or by reconnecting elsewhere. Open the app in ChatGPT's settings and reconnect.
• The consent page says your key limit is reached. Each connected app holds one API key, and keys count toward your plan's limit. Revoke one you no longer use, or upgrade.
• A request is refused. ChatGPT applies its own usage policies to what it will ask for; eroq's acceptable-use policy decides what renders — adults only, fiction only, no real people without consent, never minors.

FAQ

Is eroq an official ChatGPT app?

Not yet — it runs as a developer-mode app. It uses the same sign-in and the same tools a directory listing would.

Do I need to paste an API key into ChatGPT?

No. Choose OAuth when you create the app: eroq asks you to sign in and ChatGPT receives its own key, which you can revoke at any time.

Can I use eroq in ChatGPT on my phone?

Developer mode is a web feature. Set the app up on chatgpt.com; whether custom apps also appear on mobile depends on OpenAI's current rollout.
