Seedream 5.0 Pro vs Flux 3 Image — texture or natural light

Seedream 5.0 Pro or Flux 3 Image for photoreal AI images? Nearly the same price on eroq, so pick by texture or by light: scene by scene, with prompts for each.

Both are photoreal flagships, priced a few credits apart, and both usually land in about 20 seconds. Seedream 5.0 Pro, from ByteDance, is 36 credits / image. Flux 3 Image, from Black Forest Labs, is 32 credits / image. So the choice is not about budget. It is about where the realism of your picture lives. Seedream's lives in surfaces: dense detail, rich texture, big scenes that stay coherent. Flux 3's lives in light: natural, believable, not over-styled, and it renders in-image text reliably. A quick rule: if you would zoom in to admire it, Seedream. If you would notice the light first, Flux 3. If there is a sign to read, Flux 3.

The numbers

Seedream 5.0 Pro Flux 3 Image
Maker ByteDance Black Forest Labs
Price per image 36 credits / image 32 credits / image
At the entry pack $0.36 $0.32
Typical render about 20 seconds about 20 seconds
Positioned for detail, texture, dense scenes natural light, photoreal, typography

The difference is 4 credits per image, or 400 credits across a hundred. On a single picture it is a rounding error; pick on the look.

Practicalities do not split them either. Each takes only a text prompt on eroq, renders 1:1, 3:4, 4:3, 9:16 or 16:9 at a flat price per image, batches up to four takes, and is open on any plan. Both providers moderate upstream, and a refusal is free.

Two kinds of photoreal

A photograph convinces in one of two ways, and most images lean hard on one of them.

Texture realism is the surface holding up at close range: stone grain, bark, rust blooming on a hinge, pilled wool, the wet sheen on a cobble. It is what a viewer checks when they zoom. That is Seedream's territory.

Light realism is the light behaving as light does: window falloff across a cheek, the flat calm of an overcast street, golden hour that warms one side of a face and leaves the other cool, shadows that agree with each other. It is what a viewer feels before they think. That is Flux 3's territory.

To choose, ask which one would give the fake away. A forest that looks like plastic fails on texture. A kitchen scene with three suns fails on light.

Scene by scene

Weathered character portrait Seedream skin and fabric texture
Food macro Seedream crumbs, glaze, grain
Food on a table by a window Flux 3 the light is the appetite
Product with a printed label Flux 3 typography
Night street with readable signs Flux 3 text plus practical light

Prompt order matters

The two models reward different openings, so the same scene should be written twice.

For Seedream, lead with the surfaces. Subject and materials first, then the environment, weather and time of day, then lens and light. It rewards more detail, so keep adding materials until the scene is dense.

A Victorian greenhouse interior overgrown with ferns and climbing figs, flaking white paint on cast-iron ribs, cracked glass panes furred with moss, terracotta pots stacked on a slatted bench, soft overcast light, ultra-detailed, 35mm photograph.

For Flux 3, lead with the light. Light and setting first, then the subject, then camera and lens. Quote any words that must appear and keep them short.

Late afternoon sun slanting through the dusty glass of a Victorian greenhouse, warm beams catching floating pollen, a gardener in a canvas apron watering ferns, long soft shadows across the brick floor, 50mm lens, natural colour.

Same building, two pictures. The first is about what everything is made of. The second is about what time it is. For a longer list of light and lens vocabulary that works on both, see photoreal AI image prompts.

When neither is the answer

  • The same person or product in every frame. Neither reads pictures on eroq. Use Eroq One (up to ten references, 20 credits / image) or Krea2 (up to four, 10 credits / image).
  • Typography-led layouts. A poster built around a headline and a date line belongs on a text specialist; GPT Image 2.5 vs Flux 3 for text breaks that down.
  • Fully private renders. Both run on outside providers, which may keep the prompt but not train on it. eroq's own engines, Krea2 and Eroq One among them, are run by eroq itself and fully private.
  • A scene the provider refuses. The refusal costs nothing, and eroq's own photoreal engine, Eroq Uncensored, is uncensored within the acceptable-use policy and fully private, for 10 credits / image.

Example prompts

Seedream, surfaces in layers. Lichen, leaves and wet rock each give it something to resolve.

An old stone bridge over a mountain river in autumn, lichen-covered arches, copper and gold leaves caught in the eddies, wet boulders in the current, light drizzle, a layered pine forest behind, wide landscape photograph, 24mm at f/11.

Flux 3, a lifestyle moment. The sunbeam carries the realism; nothing is posed.

Early morning window light falling across a small apartment kitchen, a man in a grey t-shirt pouring coffee from a moka pot, steam curling through the sunbeam, crumbs on a wooden board, 35mm candid lifestyle photograph.

Seedream, a texture-led portrait. Soot, leather and skin are the subject.

A close portrait of a blacksmith at his forge, soot in the creases of his forehead, a scorched leather apron, a scarred anvil in the foreground, dense detail, warm coal glow from below, 85mm photograph.

Flux 3, light plus a short line of text. Golden hour and a readable chalkboard in one frame.

A neighbourhood bookshop at golden hour, low sun through the front window, a chalkboard by the door reading "NEW ARRIVALS", a woman browsing the poetry shelf, warm dust in the air, 35mm photograph.
