Hotel Lobby
Quavo & Takeoff · A COLORS SHOW
14 s clip · 2 characters · 112 credits on Replace
The Hotel Lobby trend is the clip everyone is remaking since September 2026: a flat orange wall, one microphone hanging from the ceiling, and two performers trading lines around it. In the original, those two are Quavo and Takeoff. In the versions flooding TikTok, Reels and Shorts, they are anyone: cartoon duos, game characters, a pair of cats, somebody's grandparents. This guide covers where the clip comes from, why it remixes so well, and how to make your own version in eroq with two characters you made, using the ready-made Hotel Lobby template.
The original: Quavo and Takeoff on A COLORS SHOW
The clip comes from a June 2022 episode of A COLORS SHOW, the Berlin channel known for filming artists in front of a single bold color. Quavo and Takeoff performed "Hotel Lobby", the debut single of their duo Unc & Phew, released in May 2022 and later the lead single of their album Only Built for Infinity Links. The episode opened the COLORS series for Black Music Month with Motown Records, and it has passed a hundred million views on YouTube.
Takeoff died in November 2022, a few months after the session, which is part of why this performance means so much to fans: the trend doubles as a tribute. When the AI versions took over in late September 2026, Quavo reposted the original on Instagram with a simple caption: "The original!!!"
Why this clip works so well as a trend
- One look. A flat orange backdrop and a hanging microphone are recognizable in a single frame, whoever stands there.
- Two performers, one mic. The back and forth between the performer on the left and the one on the right is the whole joke. Swap both and the dynamic survives.
- A calm camera. Medium shots, both performers always in frame, no props. Faces and bodies are easy to replace while the moves stay.
- The hook. The trend uses the opening of the song, about fourteen seconds from 0:14.7 to 0:28.7 in the COLORS video. Short enough to watch on repeat.
How the trend versions are made
Most versions you see map two photos onto the performance and generate a new shot that looks like it. eroq takes the other road: it keeps the real performance, every move, gesture and cut, and replaces the two people in it. That is what Replace is for: change one thing in a clip and keep the rest of the shot.
Make it in eroq with the Hotel Lobby template
- Open the template. In the studio, go to Video, then the Replace tab, and click Use template on Hotel Lobby under Trending templates, or open it directly. The 14-second clip loads from eroq, already cut to the trend's window: nothing to download, nothing to trim.
- Cast your two characters. The composer shows two slots, Left and Right. Pick a character for each and the instruction writes itself: the man on the left in the striped shirt becomes your first character, the man on the right in the orange shirt your second. No character yet? Create one from a few photos and a description; it opens in a new tab, so the template stays loaded.
- Choose the engine. Replace reads your characters' descriptions and costs 8 credits / second of clip. Replace Pro paints both characters from their look sheets into the first frame, so the faces really match, and costs 74 credits / second of clip, from the Creator plan.
- Click Replace. The edit takes a few minutes and lands in Creations. The motion, the lip-sync and the cuts come from the original performance.
- Put the song back. The engines return a silent clip. Under the result, With original sound downloads the edit with the COLORS audio under it, ready to post.
Getting a good result
- Give each character a look sheet if you use Replace Pro. It only paints characters that have one; without a sheet, the edit falls back to their written description and the face can drift. Consistent characters in AI video explains how sheets hold a face.
- Say what they wear. Each character keeps their own face, hair and outfit by default. If you want them in the striped shirt or the orange knit, add it to the instruction: the text stays editable after the template writes it.
- One character twice works. Cast the same character in both slots for a duet with yourself.
- Shorter is cheaper. The trim bar under the clip keeps only part of the fourteen seconds, and the price on the button follows the length.
What it costs
| Engine | The whole clip | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Replace | 112 credits | Reads your characters' descriptions |
| Replace Pro | 1,036 credits | Plus 10 credits for the painted first frame, Creator plan |
Trimmed to 8 seconds, the same edit costs 64 credits on Replace. Credits come with every plan, and an edit that fails is refunded.
Who you can put in the booth
The most shared versions star famous faces. On eroq you cast characters you made: an original character, yourself, or a friend who agreed to it. The usage policy asks for characters who are 18 or older and rules out real, identifiable people without their consent. The clip and the song belong to COLORS and the artists, so post your version the way the trend does: as a fan remix that credits the original.
More trends, same idea
Hotel Lobby is the first template in the Trending templates row of Replace, and the idea carries to any clip with a steady frame and clear performers: bring your clip into Replace, @mention your characters, keep the shot. To publish it vertically, the TikTok and Reels pipeline covers formats and captions.
FAQ
What is the Hotel Lobby AI trend?
A remix format that swaps Quavo and Takeoff out of their 2022 COLORS performance of "Hotel Lobby" and puts two other performers in the orange booth, keeping the moves, the lip-sync and the song.
Which song is the Migos AI trend?
"Hotel Lobby" by Unc & Phew, the duo of Quavo and Takeoff, from their 2022 album Only Built for Infinity Links. The trend uses the opening of the song, about fourteen seconds.
Is it Migos or Unc & Phew?
Both. Quavo and Takeoff were two of the three Migos and recorded "Hotel Lobby" as the duo Unc & Phew, which is why most people call it the Migos trend.
Can I use my own face?
Yes. Create a character from your own photos, give it a look sheet and cast it in a slot. Real, identifiable people need their consent, so cast yourself or someone who said yes.
Do I need two characters?
The template has two slots, one per performer, and the edit starts once both are filled. The same character can fill both.
Does the result keep the song?
The edit comes back silent, then With original sound downloads it with the COLORS audio under it. Opening it in Cinema keeps the sound too.
How much does the Hotel Lobby template cost?
The whole 14-second clip costs 112 credits on Replace and 1,036 credits on Replace Pro. Trim it in the composer to pay less.
