How to make an AI video by just describing it, step by step

You don't have to learn a video tool's settings to get a clip out of it. On the eroq studio home, one sentence is enough: Ask reads it, opens the Video tool with the engine, length, format and prompt already set, and leaves the Generate click to you. The Ask page has the overview; this guide is the practice.

It goes from one sentence to a rendered clip, then one round of changes by follow-up, with the credit arithmetic at the end.

Step 1 — Write one sentence

Start with the picture, then the settings. A sentence that renders well carries four things, roughly in this order:

1. Subject — who or what is on screen. "A red fox."
2. Motion — what it does. "Trotting." One action per clip.
3. Place — where it happens. "Through fresh snow in a birch forest."
4. Light — when, and how it's lit. "At dawn, low golden light."

Then, only if you care about them, the settings:

• Engine — "with Kling", "on Veo 3.1". Leave it out and the Video page keeps the engine it is on.
• Length — "5-second", "a 10 s clip".
• Format — "vertical", "square", "landscape".
• Camera move — "slow tracking shot", "orbit", "push-in".

Put together:

Ask writes the prompt from your words, so the picture is only as specific as the sentence. "A fox in the snow" gets you a fox in the snow; the forest, the dawn and the light are yours to add.

Step 2 — Know what Ask sets and what it leaves alone

Ask sets only what you asked for. Everything you didn't mention stays as the Video page already has it. For the fox sentence:

The words it understands for each setting:

• Format. Vertical, portrait, TikTok, Reels, Stories and Shorts mean 9:16. Landscape, horizontal and YouTube mean 16:9. Square is 1:1. Cinema or ultra-wide is 21:9.
• Length. Say the seconds. The page snaps them to what the engine renders and what your plan allows — longer clips unlock with a plan: up to 15 s on Hobby, 20 s on Creator, 30 s on Studio.
• Engine. Name one and it is set. A family name means that family's standard engine: "Kling" is Kling 3.0, not the Pro, unless you say Pro. Name none and the Video page keeps the engine it is on: the last one you used, or — on a new free account — Seedance 2.0 Mini, which runs on any plan.

Step 3 — Read the grey line

Press Enter. The studio home turns into a chat, and under Ask's reply a grey line says what it is about to open:

Read it left to right: the tool, then the length and the format Ask set. There is no engine on it because you named none, so the page keeps the engine it is on. If something is off, this is where you catch it: fix it on the page, or say so in your next message.

About a second later the Video page opens on its own. When Ask only proposes instead — you asked a question, the request was ambiguous, or you named an engine your plan does not include — you get an Open Video → button, with a plan badge next to a locked engine, and nothing opens until you click.

Step 4 — Check the Video page

The Video tool opens with your settings in place. Before generating, look at four things:

• Engine. The one you named, or the one the page was already on. If your plan doesn't include it, the page shows its Unlock button.
• Duration pills. The lit pill is your length, snapped to what the engine renders and what your plan allows. Ask for more than either permits and this is where you'll see it.
• Format. 9:16 for the fox.
• Prompt. Ask's version of your sentence. Video prompts are written in English for the engines, so a sentence typed in French or Spanish arrives translated. Read it once.

The camera move you asked for is set too, and everything on the page is still yours to change before you click.

Step 5 — Click Generate

Ask never spends credits. It prepared the page; Generate is your click, with the usual credit check and plan unlock. For the fox — 5 seconds on Seedance 2.0 Mini, a free account's starting engine — that click costs 45 credits.

Everything before it was free: the sentence, the grey line and the page cost nothing.

Step 6 — Change it with a follow-up

Go back to the studio home. The conversation is still there for the session, so the next message only needs the change:

What you said earlier still counts: the fox, the forest, the light and the vertical format carry over; only the engine and the length change. "Kling" became Kling 3.0, the family's standard engine.

If your plan doesn't include Kling 3.0 (it starts on Hobby), Ask proposes it with the plan badge instead of opening it, and the page opens with its Unlock button.

What it costs: drafts, then the keeper

A cheap way to work: draft on Seedance 2.0 Mini, then switch engines for the version you keep. Here is what each clip costs at the Generate click:

Do I need to know which video engine to use?

No. Name none and the Video page keeps the engine it is on — the last one you used, or Seedance 2.0 Mini on a new free account, which runs on any plan. Name one — "with Kling", "on Veo 3.1" — and that engine is set instead.

Does Ask start the render?

No. Ask sets up the Video page and opens it; nothing renders and no credits are spent until you click Generate there. Asking is free.

Why is the length on the page different from what I asked?

The page snaps your seconds to what the engine renders and what your plan allows. Longer clips unlock with a plan: up to 15 s on Hobby, 20 s on Creator and 30 s on Studio.

Can I describe the video in another language?

Yes. Write or speak in your own language and Ask answers in it. The video prompt on the page is written in English for the engines.

What happens if I name an engine my plan doesn't include?

Ask proposes it instead of opening it: an Open Video → button with the plan badge. Click through and the page opens with the engine's Unlock button.

Can I say the sentence out loud?
