Best uncensored AI image generators in 2026, compared
The uncensored AI image generators worth paying for in 2026, compared on policy, privacy, faces, price and API: eroq, Venice AI and local open models.
"Uncensored" is on half the AI image sites in 2026, and it rarely means the same thing twice. In this guide it means what Venice AI made it mean: the generator does not refuse dark, violent, frightening or provocative fiction, and it states its limits in a written policy instead of a filter that guesses. By that definition the list is short. Here are the options that pass, the five criteria we judged them on, and the popular tools that do not make the cut, with the reason for each.
The facts about other services were checked on their own pages in October 2026. Policies in this market change every few months: check their current terms before you pay.
How we judged
- Fiction renders. A horror still, a battle wound, a crime scene: the prompt comes back as an image, not a refusal.
- The policy is written down. You can read the limits before you pay, and they do not move from one day to the next.
- Privacy you can check. Who keeps the prompt and the picture, and for how long.
- The same face twice. Reference pictures or saved characters, so a series is possible.
- Price and API. What one image costs, and whether the same thing works from code.
The short answer
| eroq | Venice AI | Open models on your GPU | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fiction renders | Yes, on Eroq Uncensored and Eroq One | Unfiltered images on paid app plans; API flag | Yes, it is your machine |
| Written policy | Acceptable-use policy | Terms of service | The model's licence |
| Privacy | Own engines keep nothing upstream; Private mode | Prompts not stored by Venice; some models anonymized | Fully local |
| Same face | Up to 10 references, Characters | Depends on the model | LoRAs and references, your setup |
| Entry price | 10 credits / image, 50 free credits | Free tier, Pro $18 a month | A GPU |
| API | Yes | Yes, from $0.01 an image | Your own |
1. eroq
eroq runs its own image engines, and those are the uncensored ones. Eroq Uncensored makes photoreal portraits, scenes and products with up to four reference pictures and edits in place. Eroq One reads up to ten reference pictures and edits by instruction ("make it night", "add the scar"). Both render dark and intense fiction as written, under a written policy: fiction only, nothing involving minors, no real person's likeness without consent, nothing illegal. A prompt that crosses the line is refused before any credit is spent.
Privacy. Eroq Uncensored and Eroq One keep nothing upstream, and eroq never trains models on your prompts or pictures. Your library is private to your workspace. With Private mode on, the picture goes to your browser only: no file, no library entry, the prompt shown as stars in the usage ledger.
Beyond the still. Save a face as a Character with a look sheet and @mention it by name. Press Animate and the picture becomes the first frame of a clip on Motion One or Motion Pro, eroq's own uncensored video engines. The same studio also runs the moderated flagships (GPT Image 2.5, Nano Banana, Seedream, Flux 3, Grok Imagine) for typography and brand work.
Price. 10 credits / image on Eroq Uncensored, 10 credits / image, +1 per extra picture on Eroq One, the same at every format; 50 free credits on a new account. The API is POST /v1/images/generations, with private: true for Private mode.
Best for: series with recurring characters, people who want stills and clips in one place, and apps that need an API.
2. Venice AI
Venice built its name on privacy, and it shows. Its privacy page says requests are relayed without being stored and chat history stays on your device, and every model in its catalog carries a label: "Private" models, and "Anonymized" ones where Venice warns that the provider may keep your prompt. The catalog is large, from fast diffusion models to the big commercial ones.
The catch. In the app, unfiltered image generation is a paid-plan feature: the pricing table leaves it out of the free tier (15 image prompts a day) and includes it from Pro, $18 a month. In the API, a safe_mode parameter is on by default and blurs the images Venice's classifier flags; you switch it off per request. Its terms ban child exploitation and using someone's likeness without consent, like eroq's.
Best for: private chat and image experiments across many models, and cheap API calls (from $0.01 an image on the smaller models).
3. Open models on your own GPU
The most private option is the one where nothing leaves your computer. ComfyUI runs fully offline and supports NVIDIA, AMD, Intel and Apple Silicon. The cost moves to hardware: SDXL works on an 8 GB card, while a recent model like Qwen-Image wants around 20 GB of video memory even in its lighter fp8 version.
Read the licence. "Open" does not always mean "do anything". Qwen-Image and Z-Image-Turbo ship under Apache 2.0. FLUX.1 [dev] is non-commercial and its licence asks you to filter or review outputs before you distribute them. SDXL's licence allows commercial use with a list of banned uses.
Best for: people with a strong GPU and the patience to build their own setup, who want nobody else in the loop.
The popular tools that are not on this list
- Midjourney, ChatGPT image generation, Gemini and Nano Banana, Adobe Firefly, Leonardo. Filtered by design. Midjourney, Gemini and Firefly refuse graphic violence and gore in their own guidelines, and Leonardo's API blocks flagged images by default. They are excellent tools; on eroq, GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana run the same way, moderated by their providers.
- Civitai and Tensor.Art. Their main sites went general-audience: Tensor.Art in November 2025, Civitai in April 2026, after losing its mainstream payment options. Civitai has also banned real people's likeness entirely since May 2025.
- SeaArt. Its help center says it filters violent content, so dark fiction does not pass.
- Grok Imagine. xAI's image tools were reported to go paid-only in March 2026, and since the January 2026 controversy its policy bans sexual or "undressing" edits of real people. We could not confirm its current rules for fiction, so check before paying. On eroq, Grok Imagine 2.0 is one of the moderated engines.
How to choose
- You want stills and clips with recurring characters, privately: eroq.
- You want private chat and quick image tests across many models: Venice AI.
- You want nothing to leave your machine and have the GPU for it: open models in ComfyUI.
Whatever you pick, two rules hold everywhere serious: no minors, ever, and no real person without their consent.
FAQ
What is the best uncensored AI image generator in 2026?
It depends on what you need around the picture. For recurring characters, video and an API in one place, eroq. For private experiments across many models, Venice AI. For total privacy with your own hardware, open models in ComfyUI.
Is there a free uncensored AI image generator?
eroq gives new accounts 50 free credits, enough for a few Eroq Uncensored images at 10 credits / image. Venice's free tier does not include unfiltered images in the app. Open models are free to run if you already own a capable GPU.
Which uncensored image generator is the most private?
Open models on your own computer: nothing leaves it. Among online services, look for engines that keep nothing upstream and a mode that keeps no file. On eroq that is Eroq Uncensored or Eroq One with Private mode on; on Venice, the models labelled "Private".
Can I make images of real people?
Not without their consent, on any serious service: eroq, Venice, Grok and Civitai all ban it in their written terms. Use fictional characters, or a person who agreed.
Does uncensored mean anything goes?
No. Every service on this list bans anything involving minors and anything illegal, and the law applies to a model on your own computer just the same. Uncensored means fiction renders as written and the rules are a text you can read, not a filter that guesses.
