Delivery tags
Tags in [brackets] — [whispering], [laughing], [pause] — direct the read on Voice One instead of being read aloud.
On Voice One, a tag in brackets is a direction: [whispering] makes the voice whisper, [excited] lifts it, [sighing] plays a sigh. A delivery tag holds until the next tag or the next line break; a sound — [laughing], [sighing] — plays once where it stands. [pause] and [long pause] insert a beat. Any description in brackets works; the Syntax menu lists the common ones.
Tags need Voice One. Voice Turbo skips them (the page offers to switch when it sees one).
A read with tags goes to a directed engine and can take a little longer. Delivery is reliable, not perfect: a whisper lands cleanly most of the time, and a retry fixes the rest.
Write *sighs* and the composer turns it into [sighs]; other asterisks are removed, because the engine would read the word "asterisk".
