# AI video editor: your clips on a real timeline

> A free online video editor for your clips and AI renders: trim, add music, titles and looks, cut on the beat, then export MP4 or WebM in your browser.

Generating the clip is half the job; the other half is the cut. The eroq Editor is an online video editor for your own footage and your AI renders: lay them on a timeline, trim and reorder, add music, sounds and voice lines, titles and subtitles, a grade and looks, animate anything with keyframes, then export one file in your browser. Pick a style and a song and it cuts your clips on the beat for you. Every cut stays editable, and editing costs no credits.

## Three ways in

- Edit your videos: pick clips and pictures from your Creations or your uploads, and they go on the timeline whole, in your order.
- Cut on the beat: pick one of 4 styles (Aura farming, Phonk, Villain arc, Velocity) and a song, and your clips are cut on its beats with the style's looks, moving cuts and punches. Or give it an edit you like and it copies the pacing.
- From anywhere: Edit on a Video take, a Library card or a Replace result opens that clip on a new timeline, in one click. No footage yet? Render a clip in Video, then press Edit on it.

## The timeline

- A magnetic main track: trim, split, duplicate and reorder, speed from 0.25× to 4×, a slow camera move over any shot, and 7 transitions, from a crossfade to a whip pan.
- Lanes over it: up to 6 video lanes for B-roll, picture-in-picture and logos, 4 for titles and 8 for music, sounds and voice lines. Any lane hides, mutes or locks.
- Keyframes on position, scale, rotation, opacity and volume, eased, straight or held until the next one.
- Undo on every step, snapping to the beats, keys for play, split, a title or a beat hit at the playhead, and full screen on F. A clip's own sound sits linked under it and moves with it; Unlink it from the right-click menu to make it a sound of its own.
- Select several items with a lasso on the empty tracks, Shift or ⌘ click, or ⌘A: the group moves together, and one key or the right-click menu deletes it.

## Titles, subtitles and looks

12 title styles (Title, Subtitle, Lower third, Credits, Cinematic, Chapter, Impact, Typewriter, Neon, Quote, Social captions, Rolling credits), each a whole look you can change: 6 fonts, 9 places on the frame, an entrance, a box or a band behind the words. Subtitles and social captions also export as an .srt file.

Every shot can take one of 11 grades (Teal & orange, Noir, Vintage, Golden hour, Moonlight, Bleach bypass, Vivid, Dream, Neon nights, Sepia, Matte) and up to 3 looks at once (Thermal, Echo, RGB split, Glitch, VHS, Pixelate, Glow, Mirror, Invert, Duotone), each with its strength. The whole cut gets a finish on top: a grade, film grain, a vignette and letterbox bars.

## On the beat

A song's beats are read in your browser: the tempo, every beat, the hits and the drops. Cuts, trims and hits snap to them. Hits are bursts on the whole picture at one instant (Zoom punch, Flash, Shake, RGB hit, Zoom blur, Glitch hit, Blackout, Strobe) that sit on their own lane, go in with one key and are tuned one by one. A style re-cuts the same clips as many times as you like.

## Export

- MP4 or WebM, 480p to 1440p, at 24, 25, 30 or 60 frames per second.
- In the edit's own frame or reframed to 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5: every clip refits the frame and the titles follow.
- Rendered in your browser, so the edit costs no credits. An MP4 can be saved to your Creations (it counts against your Storage); a still frame exports as PNG, the soundtrack as WAV and the subtitles as .srt.

## The Inspector and Clap in the side panel

The bin on the left holds your Media, Audio and Titles; the side panel on the right has two tabs, the Inspector and Ask. The Inspector shows the selected clip, sound or title in tabs (Clip, Audio, Look, Effects for a clip), each in folding sections with a reset. In Ask, tell Clap "black and white, a slow fade at the end" or "a title that says Day one" and it sets the cut's look and ending, the selected clip, title, sound or transition, or puts a new title at the playhead. It never exports and never renders: those stay your clicks.

## Starting points

- **Skate edit, golden hour** — Tracking shot alongside a skateboarder bombing down a steep San Francisco street at golden hour, low angle, motion blur, the city and the bay behind
- **Product close-up** — Luxury commercial product shot: an amber glass perfume bottle with a brushed-gold cap on a wet black stone, a wave of clear water rising and crashing around it in slow motion, droplets in warm golden backlight, slow dolly-in
- **Festival B-roll** — Push-in on a DJ throwing both arms up as confetti cannons fire over a huge festival crowd at night, lasers cutting through haze
- **Establishing shot above the clouds** — Aerial drone shot chasing a red sports car drifting through mountain switchbacks above a sea of clouds at sunrise, tire smoke

## FAQ

### Is the eroq video editor free?

Yes. Editing and exporting run in your browser and cost no credits. Only new clips you generate with an AI engine cost credits, and your uploads and saved MP4s count against your Storage.

### Can I edit my own videos, not only AI clips?

Yes. Import videos, pictures and sounds (they go to your Storage) and put them on the timeline next to your eroq renders.

### Does it add subtitles automatically?

You type them: the Subtitle and Social captions styles set the lines on the picture, and every subtitle also exports as an .srt file. In a Cinema film, the dialogue written in the Story becomes subtitles in one click.

### Which formats can I export?

MP4 or WebM, 480p to 1440p, at 24, 25, 30 or 60 frames per second, in the edit's own frame or reframed to 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5. A single frame exports as PNG and the soundtrack as WAV.

### How is the Editor different from Cinema?

Cinema makes a film from a story: scenes with their cast, filmed in shots with their dialogue, rendered on the video engines, then cut. The Editor is that same cutting room on its own, for clips you already have. A Cinema film is cut in its Edit tab with the same tools.

### Can Claude or ChatGPT make an edit for me?

Yes. With eroq connected over MCP, ask for an edit in a style with your latest clips and a song: the make_edit tool answers a link that opens the edit in the studio, laid out on the beat.
