# Transcribe audio and dictate

> Scribe One turns an audio file into text at 1 credit per started minute; the microphone on every composer dictates for free.

## Scribe One

Upload a file up to 8 MB and Scribe One returns the transcript, detecting the language by itself. It is billed 1 credit per started minute of audio — a 90-second voice note is 2 credits — and the duration is read from the file before anything is charged.

## Dictation

The microphone button on every composer records up to a minute and writes the words into the prompt, in your language, at no cost. Your browser asks once for microphone permission; a red dot shows while it listens, and the square stops it (the minute cap stops it too). If the button is missing, the browser does not expose a microphone — try Chrome, Safari or Firefox on a secure connection.
