# Camera moves and director syntax

> 24 camera moves, lenses, apertures, lighting and palettes as one-click chips — and the words the composer recognises when you type them instead.

_Help center › Video_

The row of chips under the video composer is the director's rack: 24 camera moves (dolly in, orbit, crane up, whip pan, FPV, bullet time…), and in Settings a Look block with lenses, apertures, seven lighting setups and twelve palettes. Every chip is folded into the prompt the engine receives — you never see a form, and nothing is hidden from you either: the Syntax button under the composer lists the vocabulary.

## Typing it instead

The composer reads directions written in plain words — "wide shot", "anamorphic", "f/1.4", "golden hour" — and highlights them in amber as it recognises them. What you type wins over the chips when both say something about the same thing.

## What a move cannot do

A camera move is a direction, not a guarantee: every engine interprets it its own way, and a move that fights the action in the prompt loses. One move per clip reads best.
