# Rate limits and errors

> Per-key limits per minute, how a plan multiplies them, and what 402, 429, content_blocked and 503 mean.

## Rate limits

Per key, per minute: 60 chat completions, 20 images, 6 each for video, speech and transcription. A plan multiplies them (×2 Creator, ×4 Studio, ×6 Team, ×8 Agency) and a member's rate share can narrow their part. Hitting one returns 429 with a Retry-After header.

## Errors you will meet

- 402 — the balance is short for this call; nothing was charged. Top up, or check whether an admin set you a monthly ceiling.
- 400 content_blocked — the engine declined the prompt, or the policy guard refused it; never charged.
- 403 plan_required — the model needs a plan the workspace does not have.
- 422 sheet_required — a character or element in the request has no accepted look sheet.
- 503 model_unavailable / engine_busy — the engine is not available on this deployment, or its provider is out of capacity; never charged. Retry later.
