# Watermark

> A watermark is a visible mark burned into generated media, usually a logo in a corner, identifying the tool that made it. Many generators apply one on free or lower tiers and remove it higher up.

It matters commercially because a watermarked render cannot ship. Where one is applied, removing it is either a paid tier or a crop that costs you framing.

A watermark is not the same as provenance metadata, which travels invisibly in the file and does not affect the picture.

## On eroq

eroq does not watermark. Renders come back clean on every plan, including the free credits, and the engines are explicitly asked not to add one. What you generate is what you can publish, under your own terms.

### Are free renders watermarked?

No. There is no watermark on any tier, including the 50 welcome credits. The free tier is limited by credits, clip length and which engines it unlocks, not by a mark on the output.

### Can I use renders commercially?

Yes, under your own terms — the output is yours and carries no mark. The limits are the acceptable-use policy, not the licence.

### Does eroq embed anything invisible in the file?

eroq adds nothing to the picture or the audio. Upstream providers may embed their own provenance metadata in a file; that is theirs, not something eroq applies.
