# Ad placement

> An ad placement is where an ad is shown: a Facebook or Instagram feed, Stories and Reels, TikTok's feed, a pin, a banner on a website. Each placement has its own picture size and shows a set amount of text.

The same ad usually runs in several placements at once, so it needs a picture per shape: 4:5 for the feeds, 9:16 for full-screen Stories, Reels and TikTok, 1.91:1 for display banners. Full-screen placements cover the top and the bottom of the frame with the app's buttons, so text belongs in the middle. Copy gets cut too: a feed shows about 125 characters of primary text before "See more", TikTok about 100.

## On eroq

In the Ads Studio you pick the places first (Facebook and Instagram feeds, Stories & Reels, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Google Display, LinkedIn, X): each ad renders in every size they need, its copy is cut to what they show, and it downloads at the exact size of each place.

## FAQ

### What size should an Instagram feed ad be?

1080×1350 pixels (4:5) for the most room in the feed; 1080×1080 (1:1) also works. Stories and Reels take 1080×1920 (9:16).

### Can one picture serve every placement?

Not well: a 4:5 feed picture is cropped or letterboxed in a 9:16 Story. Make one picture per shape, which is what an ad made for several placements needs.

### Where should the text go in a Story ad?

In the middle of the frame: the top fifth and the bottom quarter are covered by the app's profile line, captions and buttons.
