The Carpool Karaoke trend is the car everyone has been filling with their own crew since late September 2026: a camera on the windshield, four seats, and the hook of Migos's "Walk It Talk It", rapped cut for cut. In the original, the four in the car are James Corden and the three Migos. In the version that went viral, they were four Formula 1 drivers. This guide covers where the clip comes from, why it remixes so well, and how to make your own version in eroq with four characters you made, using the ready-made Carpool singalong template.

## The original: Migos on Carpool Karaoke

The clip comes from Carpool Karaoke, the recurring segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden, in an episode that aired on November 13, 2018. Corden drove, and Quavo, Offset and Takeoff rode with him: they ran through their hits "Bad and Boujee" and "Walk It Talk It", sang a few classics and counted out $200,000 in cash in the car. The trend uses the "Walk It Talk It" hook, about fourteen seconds where the windshield camera cuts between the four seats.

It is the sister trend of [Hotel Lobby](/blog/migos-hotel-lobby-ai-trend): the same artists, the same nostalgia. Takeoff died in November 2022, and every clip of the three Migos together now doubles as a tribute. The AI wave reached the car with "F1 Karaoke", which put Lewis Hamilton at the wheel, Max Verstappen beside him and Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli in the back. Hamilton reposted it to his Instagram story on September 24, 2026, and Antonelli shared it too.

## Why this clip works so well as a trend

- **Four seats, four parts.** Driver, passenger and two in the back: a group shot with a role for everyone, whether that is your crew, your band or your cast.
- **One fixed camera.** The windshield camera never moves; the edit cuts between the seats and back to the wide shot of all four. Faces and bodies are easy to replace while every move stays.
- **The hook.** About fourteen seconds of "Walk It Talk It", the part everyone knows, short enough to watch on repeat.
- **A format everyone knows.** A host, a car, guests singing along: years of Carpool Karaoke made the setup readable in a single frame.

## How the trend versions are made

The viral versions keep the original car and put famous faces in it. eroq's template does the same with your characters: it keeps the real performance, every head bob, gesture and cut, and replaces the four people in it. That is what [Replace](/studio/video?mode=replace) is for: change one thing in a clip and keep the rest of the shot.

## Make it in eroq with the Carpool singalong template

1. **Open the template.** In the studio, go to Video, then the Replace tab, and click **Use template** on Carpool singalong under Trending templates, or [open it directly](/studio/video?mode=replace&template=carpool). The 14-second clip loads from eroq, already cut to the hook: nothing to download, nothing to trim.
2. **Cast your four characters.** The composer shows four slots: **Driver**, **Passenger**, **Back, red cap** and **Back, stripes**. Pick a character for each and the instruction writes itself: the driver in the navy t-shirt, the passenger with long braids and round white glasses, the back-seat passenger in the red cap and the one in the striped sweater each become one of yours. No character yet? [Create one](/studio/characters/new) from a few photos and a description; it opens in a new tab, so the template stays loaded.
3. **Choose the engine.** Replace reads your characters' descriptions and costs 8 credits per second of clip. Replace Pro paints all four characters from their look sheets into the first frame, so the faces really match, and costs 74 credits per second, from the Creator plan.
4. **Click Replace.** The edit takes a few minutes and lands in Creations. The head bobs, the lip-sync and the cuts come from the original performance.
5. **Put the hook back.** The engines return a silent clip. Under the result, **With original sound** downloads the edit with the original audio under it, ready to post.

## Getting a good result

- **Give all four a look sheet** if you use Replace Pro. It paints the cast into the first frame only when every character has one; otherwise the edit falls back to their written descriptions, and the composer names the characters still missing a sheet. [Consistent characters in AI video](/blog/consistent-characters-ai-video) explains how sheets hold a face.
- **Make them easy to tell apart.** Four faces in a small car is a lot for any edit engine: distinct hair, colors and outfits help each character land in the right seat.
- **Say what they wear.** Each character keeps their own face, hair and outfit by default. If you want the red cap or the striped sweater, add it to the instruction: the text stays editable after the template writes it.
- **One character can take several seats.** Cast the same character twice, or in all four slots, for a car full of yourself.
- **Shorter is cheaper.** The trim bar under the clip keeps only part of the fourteen seconds, and the price on the button follows the length.

## What it costs

| Engine | The whole clip | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Replace | 112 credits | Reads your characters' descriptions |
| Replace Pro | 1,036 credits | Plus 10 credits for the painted first frame, Creator plan |

Trimmed to 7 seconds, the same edit costs 56 credits on Replace. Credits come with every [plan](/pricing), and an edit that fails is refunded.

## Who you can put in the car

The version that went viral cast four real Formula 1 drivers. eroq's rules forbid that: the [usage policy](/legal/aup) rules out real, identifiable people without their consent and asks for characters who are 18 or older. So the car is for characters you made: an original crew, yourself, or friends who agreed to it. The clip and the song belong to The Late Late Show and the artists, so post your version the way the trend does: as a fan remix that credits the original.

## More trends, same idea

Carpool singalong sits next to Hotel Lobby in the Trending templates row of Replace, and the idea carries to any clip with a steady frame and clear performers: bring your clip into Replace, @mention your characters, keep the shot. [STORM](/blog/yung-lean-storm-ai-trend) works the same way with a single slot to fill: one of your characters stands perfectly still while a whole crowd dances around them. Every format is collected under [Trends](/blog/category/trends).

## FAQ

### Which song is the Migos Carpool Karaoke trend?
